Originally from Pickford, Michigan, Dr. Merchand earned his Doctor of Optometry from Ferris State University College of Optometry in 2012. After time away, he is honored to return to his roots and care for the community he calls home. A proud husband and father, he enjoys camping and hunting in his free time.

Emily Miszewski O.D.
Dr. Miszewski earned her Doctor of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 2023. Originally from the Grand Rapids area, she is proud to serve northern Michigan with compassionate, comprehensive eye care. Outside the office, she enjoys gardening, baking, and spending time with her cat.

Nicole is a seasoned optical professional with more than 26 years of leadership experience in both clinic and district-level roles. Certified by the American Board of Opticianry (ABOC) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE), she brings a high level of expertise and dedication to her role as Office Manager. A proud lifelong resident of Sault Sainte Marie, Nicole is a devoted wife and mother, currently preparing for her son's exciting journey to college.

Born and raised in Sault Sainte Marie, Michaela attended Ferris State University and plays a vital role in supporting patient care as a Doctor Technician. She is a proud mother of two. In her free time away from the clinic she is all about animals and the great outdoors.

Originally from Raber, Michigan, Melanie is the clinic's Lead Optician and brings both technical expertise and a friendly approach to patient eyewear needs. She is a proud mother of three. When not in the clinic, she enjoys staying active outdoors and taking long walks in her free time.

Katelyn
Katelyn grew up in Southeast Michigan near Lapeer and earned her Bachelor of Science from Lake Superior State University in 2025. She's excited to be part of the Sault community and is passionate about helping patients have optimal optical wear. When not in the clinic, she enjoys running and spending time with her dog.

Terri
Terri is a native of Sault Sainte Marie and has served in patient scheduling for over five years. Known for her kind demeanor and strong organizational skills, she helps ensure every patient's experience runs smoothly. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, crafting, and making the most of Northern Michigan summers.
Billing & Front Office Lead

A Sault Sainte Marie native and Sault High graduate (Class of 2006), Sean leads the clinic's billing operations and front office coordination with a strong emphasis on service and efficiency. He has a passion for 3D animation, video games, and is a proud cat owner who always enjoys welcoming patients with a smile.
